Florence de Dampierre "Saisha" Console

The fashion for chinoiserie started at Versailles following a visit from ambassadors from Siam. A pavilion with mostly blue and white decoration was erected in the garden. The reverse, hand-painted chinoiserie design on this console/sideboard is inspired by that legendary building.
