We love the look and feel of this handcrafted wood platform: the cerused-oak finish is relaxed and inviting, and the slight tilt of the headboard is designed for comfort. Victoria Falls bedding lends ethnic glamour, and the Suitcase desk with leather pulls makes the perfect bedside accent. We chose a woven leather rug in khaki, "Rendezvous" abstract art, and the Iota double-gourd lamp to complete the look.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
Gracefully arched headboard and footboard, pretty turned finials, tapered legs, and a classic cream color make our Phoebe bed a versatile solution for master or guest room. USA-made Millie bedding adds a delicate splash of seaglass blue and an artful floral motif. To keep the look light, we added Edgewood bedside tables, Iota double-gourd lamps, and the silvery Brienna chair. Art from our Botanical Wall Gallery collection completes the look.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
Buckle up for masculine style with our mahogany Belton bed, a distinctive design highlighted by a belting motif inspired by vintage luggage. We continue the theme with the Wallace chest as a bedside piece, accented with leather end panels, rope-twist detailing, and burl-veneer drawers. A cushioned storage bench adds seating and a convenient spot for extra linens. Thomas O'Brien's Kenton desk lamp with a sleek U-shaped brass base adds a contemporary touch, and prints from our exclusive Giclee Wall Gallery give the walls a coordinated display.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
The textile masters at Dransfield & Ross are always inventing new ways to get your beauty sleep, beautifully. This group mixes serene shades of blue in tempting textures: Vannerie quilted satin coverlet, a velvet-stripe bed scarf, and a luscious pile of embroidered, tie-dyed, and waffle-grid pillows.
We chose Bernhardt's nailhead-trimmed Eastman headboard in charcoal for just the right amount of contrast with the bedding. For a different take on the traditional nightstand, we went shopping in Side Tables - and came back with the Olita tray table with chic faux-shagreen top and a champagne-finished metal base.
The scale of the Brienna chair is perfect for bedroom seating, and we love the juxtaposition of silver satin with the linen-textured seat and tufted back.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
Classic toile in dark red and white on a khaki ground - beautiful, but how to give it a fresh look? Our design team nestles this traditional bedding in a white paneled cocoon, and the result is irresistible.
The Dunlap bed, made in the USA by Old Hickory Tannery, is a cloud of tufted cotton, with nailheads emphasizing the rolled headboard and footboard. More nailheads create a baroque tracery on the Micaela upholstered floor mirror, bench-made in North Carolina.
The diamond-quilted Morgan chair is another USA-made piece from Old Hickory Tannery; its gold-painted frame picks up the shimmer of the Dover steel floor lamp by Aerin Lauder for Visual Comfort.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
We're definitely grading on the curves with this bedroom. Scooped corners on the headboard and footboard, shapely drawers with ring pulls, and brass ring lamps add a subtly sinuous motif to this luxurious setting.
Bernhardt's Audrey furniture is all alabaster elegance, with gold metal insets on the bed. We love a small chest as a bedside table, and this one has the added impact of curvilinear drawers.
The faux-chinchilla throw by Sweet Dreams is a deliciously soft addition to the basketweave-quilted Vannerie bedding by Dransfield & Ross House (the satin finish has a soft, shimmery quality).
Once we settled on the brass lamps, by Sandy Chapman for Visual Comfort, we pounced on the gold-painted tree-stump table as an accent piece.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
One of the most important things about designing a bedroom is including seating. So even though the fabulous Fresno bed is the dominant element, it's the chair and ottoman that take this space to the next, very livable level.
We love the bed's tufted, gently curved headboard -- inspired by wing chairs -- and its cozy, cloudlike gray. Charcoal gray bedding and classic white sheets keep it simple and restful and easy to update with a quick change of decorative pillows.
Speaking of wing chairs, the zebra linen Kayla is a versatile accent piece (we've also used it as a dining host chair). Its height complements the bed, and the pattern provides appealing contrast amid all the solid hues.
We added the round Ellsworth ottoman, then opted for a pop of sunshine yellow in the Fairfax ribbed gourd lamps (cast from a 1960s original). Above the bed, a mirror framed in overlapping slices of natural horn adds color, texture, and reflected light.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
The essence of Global Chic, BlissLiving's Chanda bedding contrasts exotic medallions and a coral geometric print to create multiple looks from just a few reversible pieces in cotton sateen and silk dupioni. Decorative pillows feature meticulous embroidery in luscious colors and motifs. We repurposed the Zoia entertainment console as a bedside chest, and added our glossy Burma lamp for another pop of fiery color. Our silver leather pouf and nubby Temi throw in Coral complete the look.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
The library of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation yielded the inspiration for this delicately beautiful Chinoiserie/floral print. The quilt reverses to the gray/white fretwork pattern used for dust skirt and Euro shams. Decorative pillows highlight the pagoda-roofed gazebos and add a splash of flame-stitching in coordinating hues. Our Claudia mirrored vanity makes a glamorous and unexpected nightstand, paired with a mirrored X bench. The slender, shapely Hovan mirror brightens the room and enhances light from a blue ceramic bamboo lamp.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
From our Horchow Now collection, this bedroom balances luxe and laid-back in a distinctively 21st-century way.
The cotton-upholstered Dunlap bed is grandly tufted and nailhead-trimmed, with pretty turned legs in a glossy coffee-bean finish. Micah cotton knit bedding and Coyuchi organic linen sheets add a casual, cozy touch that works year-round.
We kept the pale cloudlike ambiance going with a hand-loomed ivory wool rug in a gorgeous basketweave pattern. For contrast, we chose the Taylor dresser and matching nightstands in ash with a subtle silvered wash for a vintage look. Regina-Andrew seeded-glass lamps have woven rattan shades for even more natural texture.
For the finishing touch, we love the "Cityscape" oil on canvas.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
A retreat that will resonate with your inner Bollywood star, this bedroom spotlights John Robshaw's "Charana" bedding, with patterns plucked from authentic woodblock prints. We tossed in an armload of dec pillows from other Robshaw collections, weaving a palette of lavender and eggplant with accents of khaki, clay, and tangerine.
A reproduction rain drum makes the perfect side table, and patchwork poufs are exotic substitutes for a more traditional bench at the foot of the bed. For the floor, we chose Genevieve Gorder's "Wild Chev" wool rug in gray. The "Pattern Makers" metal chandelier by Regina-Andrew brightens the space with a gleaming antiqued-gold finish.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
As romantic as a gentle rain in Paris, this bedroom starts with "Archival Urns" bedding from Dransfield & Ross House (love the ribbon trim on the skirt!). The little wings of a button-tufted linen headboard add a subtle embrace.
Lighting is graceful and unique: the sculptural "Savona" floor lamp has a photo-mural shade, the "Perm" table lamp has a wire-caged shade and a base inspired by an architectural finial, and our "Salento" chandelier shines above it all.
Mirror adds touches of glamour in the "Woven Sunburst" above the bed and the X bench at the foot. We added our exclusive "Olivia" chair and ottoman for a cozy reading corner, and the "Landri" chest for its appealing bedside manner.SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
Inspired by a recent classic-movie marathon (think black-and-white detective dramedies), we channeled the spirit of Old Hollywood glamour into this bedroom.
Of course, it all began with the platinum velvet sleigh bed (Haute House), scrolled and tufted for maximum impact. Instead of the usual nightstands, we repurposed two mirrored hall chests and found they had a terrific bedside manner.
To balance the bed’s opulence, we chose simple crystal lamps that almost disappear (but still add to the room’s timeless elegance). And the Art Nouveau floral pattern sold us on the ‘Willows’ rug – what could be more Thirties chic?SHOP ITEMS IN THIS ROOM >
