Michael Aram dinnerware is designed with beauty and functionality in mind. The artworks are delicate and elegant, yet crafted to be enjoyed every day and to withstand microwave and dishwasher usage. Each piece is handmade and slight variations are a hallmark of the making process. As with all of Michael's work, the designs stand strongly on their own and also integrate well with other collections. The Orchid dinnerware pattern reflects the beauty of orchids, which are one of Aram's best-loved motifs. The stems and blossoms are hand sculpted, capturing the movement and delicacy of orchid plants. "For me, there is something romantic and seductive about orchids. The hand sculpts feel delicate and the effect of the glaze interacting with the material below adds a sense of freshness and spontaneity to the pieces."
