About Gien
For more than 175 years, Gien has been the acclaimed producer of the supreme faience (pourous ceramic “paste” covered and protected by glaze) artwork, contemporary dinnerware, and giftware that graces thousands of households worldwide today. The Gien Faiencerie Factory was founded in 1821, and since then has produced a wide variety of items, including monogrammed services and over 2,600 royal and European families’ coats of arms. As the artwork continues to blossom and gain popularity, Gien strives to work with both artists and designers to create classic and fashion-forward patterns and designs for today’s home and gift collections.
