Porcelain bust of an ancient philosopher from the Eternal Fluidity collection. Wise men of old told us that reality is both permanence and becoming. There are essential, immutable truths but there is also time which does not stop and to which we must adapt. The works in the Eternal Fluidity collection took their inspiration from this ancient wisdom to create an allegory of classicism that co-exists with innovation, of the primal that embraces the constant flow of change. The bust of this philosopher is made following the tradition of classical sculpture. The finish in white matte porcelain enhances the perfect modeling and the control of anatomy. In contrast, the finish in silver luster that flows over the pieces expresses the duality between the old and the new, between permanence and change, between reason and emotion. It is the sign of our time, the message of the Eternal Fluidity collection.
